Single Serve, No. 03 · Burundi

Om kaffen

This delicious coffee comes from Burundi. It is roasted gently (at low heat) over a short period of time, so the coffee bean has retained as much of its sweetness, floral and berry notes, but still has the golden brown color that coffee should have.

The Burundi bean is perfect for Pour Over and light filter. The coffee is mild and round, with a fruity aroma and a hint of plum and cherry.

About the cultivation and processing -

Enter the world of Burundian coffee with Migoti Coffee Company's fully washed Red Bourbon coffee. Named after the mountain where it grows, Migoti's coffee washing station in Bujumbura Province is surrounded by ideal conditions for coffee production: high altitudes, abundant rainfall, and the perfect climate for Arabica Bourbon coffee trees.
With an average of 150-200 coffee trees per farm, coffee production in Burundi has long been a means of rebuilding the agrarian sector and increasing foreign exchange, as well as a reflection of the country's cultural heritage. Bourbon coffee is grown primarily at high altitudes and is characteristically "sweet with sharp acidity, full-bodied, floral, citrus and spice notes with wild notes.

About the green beans - Migoti Hill

Migoti Coffee Company is a community-focused business that is making a positive impact on coffee farmers in Burundi. In 2016, they built a coffee washing station on Migoti Mountain and partnered with industry experts to ensure they have the technical expertise to produce high-quality green coffee. Today, Migoti buys coffee cherries directly from farmers, who harvest them and deliver them to the station, where they are processed and prepared for export.

Over the past three coffee seasons, Migoti Mountain has produced over 300 tons of green coffee, achieving excellent taste ratings and consistently ranking among the best specialty coffees from Burundi. This success is largely due to the dedication of the local team, including ten permanent employees and over 250 temporary workers employed during the coffee season from March to June. The majority of the temporary workers are women, who work tirelessly on the raised drying tables to ensure the coffee is of the highest quality.

Migoti Coffee Company also offers ongoing training to coffee farmers, helping them increase yields from their coffee trees up to tenfold through best agricultural practices such as pruning and proper care, mixed cropping, planting shade trees, use of green manure, soil stabilization, and natural pest control.

By buying Migoti's coffee, we not only support a sustainable company that values its community, but we also get high-quality specialty coffee from Burundi.

About our choice of coffee beans

Coffee is at the heart of everything we do at EverBean. It is the driving force behind our commitment to equipment, service and guidance in coffee brewing. We value the quality of the coffee's raw materials, as that is what ends up in your cup. At EverBean, our primary focus is to ensure quality in every cup. We import carefully selected coffee beans from the world's best sources to ensure the ultimate taste experience."

The continents

No matter which coffee farm we get the beans from, you can always find information about the origin, the farm they are grown on, the process the beans have gone through and the history behind the producer. For us, it would be anything but the truth if we took all the credit for the beautiful taste experiences in the cups.

Our coffee selection covers most of the world and we never take home a coffee we don't like just to make money. We stand behind our work and taste.

Sometimes we take home very exclusive beans in smaller portions than the "normal" roasts we have. We do this to be able to offer you something completely unique and expand our knowledge at the same time.

YOUR choice, YOUR taste

Whether it's on a trip abroad, a conversation with a random person, or through our regular partners around the world, we always take the best green beans home and roast them at our own roastery.

Wherever the beans come from, we give them the utmost respect and care, as we know how much they have been through to get to your cup. You can always ask about our coffee, its origin and the process. Or you can read much more about the journey of a coffee bean on our blog.
